Code of Conduct

1. To be assigned a court, members must register with the monitor on duty.
2. Shoe tag must be visible, otherwise you can be refused play.
3. Only proper tennis attire (including proper tennis shoes) will be allowed on the courts (jeans, cut-offs and tank tops will not be permitted). Proper tennis shoes must be worn.
4. Members must use the court walkways, gates and clubhouse for quick and quiet access to the courts.
5. Proper shoes are essential when using the clay courts. Use the "Tennie Two Step" to remove clay from your shoes each time after playing on the clay courts.
6. A maximum of 4 players are allowed on the court at one time. Spectators are not permitted on the court.
7. The following are not permitted in the club facilities:
   • Abusive language or behaviour
   • Spitting on the courts
   • Alcoholic beverages
   • Animals of any kind
   • Skateboards, scooters or roller blades
   • Cellular phones are not to be used on the courts
8. Have fun and enjoy your game - remember tennis etiquette!
   • Talk quietly when standing near tennis courts in use.
   • To retrieve a ball from another court, wait until the players have completed a point to ask them to return it to you. To return a ball to another court, wait for a break in play on their court or roll the ball to the back of their court.
   • Be respectful of others.

Court Rules

Adult Priority Times:

Adults have priority Monday to Thursday, 7 to 11 p.m.

• SINGLES will get 45 minutes.
• DOUBLES will get 1 hour.

Notes:

1. Adults who have already had court time do NOT have priority over waiting families or adults.
2. Once a family is assigned to a court, they are entitled to their playing time.
3. Adults who have already had court time still have priority over waiting juniors.
4. Juniors on court must relinquish court at 7 p.m.

Junior Priority Times:
(Under 18 years old as of December 31 of the prior year)

Juniors have priority Monday to Thursday, 4 to 7 p.m.

Juniors have priority Saturday, 9 a.m. to 12 Noon

Note: Juniors who have already had court time still have priority over waiting adults.

Equal Priority Times:

Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 12 Noon to 11 p.m.

Holidays, 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Public Hours:

Saturday (1 court only), 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Ball Machine/Hopper Use:

1. Ball machine/hoppers may only be used when there is a free court and during NON Priority Times.
2. Ball machine/hopper use is restricted to courts 8 and 9 only or a court that has no one on the adjoining court.
3. Pros may use hoppers during all lessons.
4. Ball machine rental is $5.00 per session.

Guest Policy

Members may introduce any number of guests (Guest fee is $5.00) during non-priority times only, i.e. guests are not permitted Monday-Thursday 7p.m.-11p.m. All guests must complete and sign the Guest Waiver / Release Form prior to playing tennis. An individual is only eligible to be a guest 3 times in total in a given season, even if introduced by different members. After 3 visits, the guest must pay a membership fee to continue playing at UTC.
